摘要: ObjectiveToestimatetheheavymetalcontentinsoilandselectedmedicinalplantsprocuredfromenvironmentallydifferentsitesofthesamecity.MethodsSoilandplantsamplesofAbutilonindicum,Calotropisprocera,Euphorbiahirta,Peristrophebycaliculata,andTinosporacordifoliawerecollectedfrom3environmentallydifferentsitesofthecity:heavytrafficarea(HTA),industrialarea(IA),andresidentialarea(RA).Pb,Cd,Cr,andNiwereestimatedinsoilandplantsamplesbyinductivelycoupledplasmaemissionspectrometryandcompared.ResultsThelevelofheavymetalwashigherinsoilthaninplantpartsstudied.Accumulationofheavymetalsvariedfromplanttoplant.PbwasthehighestinCalotropisprocerarootfromHTAsiteandthelowestinPeristrophebycaliculatawholeplantfromIAsite.Itwasalsolowerinresidentialareathaninheavytrafficarea.ConclusionThelevelofheavymetalcontentdifferedinthesamemedicinalplantcollectedfromenvironmentallydifferentsitesofthesamecity.Thus,itreiteratesourbeliefthateverymedicinalplantsampleshouldbetestedforcontaminantloadbeforeprocessingitfurtherformedication.
